Friends & Fun

Last Thursday Cyndi & Travis flew in from Chicago and we had so much fun together. Thursday night we headed to Joe T.'s for some fun grown up time with Cory and Lauren. Audrey was in heaven Friday with her Auntie Cyndi and Auntie Lauren as her audience all day long:-) I think she found a new best friend in Travis too! We love you guys!

Snow, snow everywhere!

I LOVE snow! Being from Colorado I am a huge fan of it and typically in Texas we don't have real snow. So this year has been a fantastic treat for us, especially since Audrey is old enough to enjoy it too:-) We spent Christmas snowed in in Oklahoma. We literally didn't leave the house for 2 1/2 days, even Shelby enjoyed the white Christmas. Imagine our surprise last Thursday when we experienced yet another snow storm. School was let out early Thursday (& cancelled Friday) and all the kids in our neighborhood headed to the hill in our park for sledding. Highly entertaining in TX because people sled on ANYTHING. Cardboard, boxes, pool floats, even baking sheets- we saw it all! We avoided the sledding but had fun building a snow man and teaching Audrey how to throw a snowball.

Holiday in the Park

I love our neighborhood for many reasons. One of them being all of the fun family oriented events around the holidays. We are usually out of town and miss most of them, however yesterday was Santa in the Park and we made it! Audrey got to take her picture with Santa and play in the park along with hot cocoa, hay rides and carols. Last year Audrey was curious about Santa but this year not so much. She freaked out and we have no pics so we just posted the ones from her playing in the park.

Turkey Time

We spent Thanksgiving in Houston this year with my parents. Audrey enjoyed the mashed potatoes and bread- just like her Daddy! She is getting so big~ she loves to wear everyones shoes and actually walks around the house in them. Check out the pic of her walking around in Grandpa's tennis shoes! There's also a random pic at the end of Audrey, Shelby and I playing around with fake teeth. Random, I know but still funny.

So it's been a VERY long time...but Christmas break is here and I finally have some extra time so here we are.
Audrey was a pumpkin this year for Halloween and wasn't sure what to make of trick-or-treating. However, she quickly caught on and enjoyed every moment. She even sorted her candy when we got home:-)

Crib Climbing

Sorry but no pictures today, however I thought that this event was worthy of sharing. Last night Cory and I were getting ready for bed and we suddenly heard a loud noise. We looked at each other and both took off for Audrey's room. Sure enough we found our little sweet pea on the floor on her knees looking dazed and somewhat confused. Thankfully, there were no injuries. Lately Audrey has been trying to climb up on chairs and couches by hiking up her leg. Well apparently last night she used the crib bumper to hoist herself over the edge of her crib. Please note that her crib mattress is on the lowest setting and has been for some time. So, the bumper has been removed and if she continues with this climbing craze she may just be sleeping on the floor...:-)
