Happy Easter

After a busy birthday party it was nice to have a small, quiet Easter. Sushie, Big Guy, Tim and Kristen came over for brunch and mimosas before Audrey's final egg hunt. We loved having everyone here and spending time with Tim and Kristen was a special treat. Any chance you guys will move to Texas??? Your nieces would love it:-) After the egg hunt, Tim and Kristen headed to the airport and flew back to Colorado while Sushie and Big Guy drove back to Houston. And what did we do? NAPPED! Audrey took her usual 2-3 hour nap and Madeleine and Mommy crashed for the next 4 hours. We were just a tad worn out.

Doesn't Audrey look excited to be posing with Mommy?

It is almost impossible to get a decent shot of a 3 year old and a newborn...

The Birthday Bash

Prepare for a VERY picture heavy post! Audrey's party was a great success and although it was a blur we had a great time. It was hotter then we would have liked but at least it didn't rain so the kids were able to play outside in the backyard and have an egg hunt too. All of the grandparents were here along with aunts, uncles and friends. By Saturday night we were worn out (as evident in the last 2 pictures) Audrey had so much fun with everyone and woke up Sunday asking when everyone was coming back for another party. We took her for her 3 year check up Monday and our little sweet pea is 38 inches tall (a typical 4 year old is 40 inches) and weighs 34 lbs. This puts her in the 75th percentile in both categories. Looks like she is going to be tall like her Mom.

Cupcake chaos

Last weekend was busy, busy, busy! Audrey's birthday party was Saturday and Easter obviously on Sunday...but first we had to celebrate another birthday. Uncle Tim and Kristen flew in from Colorado for Audrey's party. However, Tim's birthday is April 16th so Friday night we celebrated with cupcakes and as the title indicates it quickly turned into hilarious chaos. I'm not sure who started it, but somehow almost everyone at the table ended up with frosting on their nose and Audrey thought it was the funniest thing in the world. The laughter coming from her was contagious:-)

And it begins...
Pure joy on her face!

"Your turn Daddy."

Even Sushie joined in the fun.

Another Egg Hunt

Audrey is going to be a pro egg hunter by Sunday. This afternoon we went up to my school for the annual egg hunt for past and present teachers & their children. Audrey was pretty pumped about it and even picked out her dress. I am amazed that she didn't want to wear her tennis shoes with it- they have been permanently attached to her feet lately. One of my students, Marleigh, was up at school to help out with all the little kids. (Her Mom also works at PGE). I have to tell you that Audrey LOVES Marleigh. Anytime there are events or activities at PGE Audrey goes straight to Marleigh and holds her hand the entire time. Today was no different.

Love this polka-dot dress!

All the kiddos posing before the hunt

Audrey was a little unsure of the bunny until she realized Marleigh was posing with her and then it was all good.
By the way, the bunny is one of our kinder teachers who dresses up every year- she's wonderful!

A little rain won't stop the fun- the kiddos didn't seem to mind having the egg hunt in the gym.

Mommy and her girls. Madeleine loved the attention from all the other teachers- she even stayed awake for most of it. Hopefully that means she will sleep for longer then 2 hours at a time tonight...pretty please.

Who says you have to wait until you get home to have candy? Audrey decided the hall was as good a place as any to dump her loot and start eating.

Marleigh and I. I love being home with my girls but I do miss my helper at school. She will be an amazing babysitter, teacher and Mom some day:-)

"I'm tree"

Our sweet pea is three!!! Holy cow, how did that happen? But before we get to the birthday girl and her special day we have to explain the birthday boo-boo. Monday night Audrey was having a great time running around the coffee table when suddenly it jumped up and got her...at least that's how she tells the story. In reality she was running around the coffee table and tripped and cut her eye on the edge of the table. Cory who always stays calm, cool and collected came through like always and kept both Audrey and I from having a complete melt down. After some ice and a little distraction Audrey & I were both fine. Thankfully the bleeding stopped, the swelling went down and we had a happy camper for her birthday.

The teething penguin that Audrey is holding proved to be a great distraction from the fall.

Now- on to the happy birthday girl! Audrey is holding her "Birthday Princess" hat that her Aunt Lindsey got her for her 1st birthday. She is also sporting an adorable T-shirt with a 3 on it that one of my student's Mom's made for Audrey- so sweet!!!

Getting ready to open her presents- I love her cheesy grin!
Opening her pink soccer ball that Daddy picked out. She has been talking about soccer ever since a friend came over and played with her. (Thanks Weston!)
"This is how you throw the ball Dad!"
Future OU woman's soccer player????
Audrey's party is this Saturday & she has been talking about it for weeks. We can't wait to celebrate with all of her friends and family!

6 Weeks!

Where or where have the last six weeks gone? Madeleine was six weeks old yesterday and I cannot believe how quickly the time is passing. Our new baby girl is thriving- as you will see in the pictures below. Here's further proof:

At birth Madeleine weighed 6lbs 3 oz and was 20 inches long.

At her 1 month check up: 11lbs 4 oz and 21 3/4 inches long.

Last week we went back to the pediatrician for a cold and she weighed 12lbs!

Madeleine has no trouble nursing and will be a rolly polly little baby just like her big sister was. As much as I tease about this, I am extremely grateful that both of the girls gained weight easily and we didn't have to worry about if they were eating enough. There are only a million things a new mom worries about so I take the breaks when they come;-)

I did not take pictures of Madeleine at 1 month but my goal is to get a few shots of her as each month passes. I love seeing other friends monthly updates and I was sad that we didn't do it with Audrey... so we'll see how it goes.

This is pretty much how our little cuddle bug prefers to spend her time. She thankfully will nap in her crib, swing or pack n'play but she LOVES to be held and sleep on our chests. Most nights Daddy and Madeleine spend a few hours between 8-11 like this so Mommy can get some sleep. BEST husband ever!!!!

Sleepy angel

"Gross! Your feet stink Audrey!" You know that's what Madeleine is thinking;-)

Playing in the Park

Last Friday the girls & I met up with friends for a play date in the park. It was pretty windy but that didn't stop us from having a great time. We spent some time at the playground, had an Easter egg hunt & finished with a picnic. I could get very used to being home with my sweet babies:-)

Smile everyone

Notice that my sweet Audrey is picking her belly button while everyone else is gearing up for the hunt..
And the egg hunting begins.
Audrey with her basket. What you don't see here is that seconds before I took this picture she was desperately trying to carry eggs in her shirt because he basket was so full they were falling out. Thankfully she starting putting the extra eggs in everyone else's baskets.
