Happy Father's Day

I know it's early but I took this sweet picture of Cory and Madeleine a few nights ago & wanted to share it. I don't say it often enough~ Cory is an INCREDIBLE Dad to all of our sweet girls (Shelby too!). To Cory and all our Daddy friends out there I hope you have a wonderful Father's Day!

Growing like a weed

Our sweet little Madeleine is 3 months now and so much fun! I love to kiss those chunky cheeks and she smiles and talks back to me every time. She has been a pretty easy baby so far and has been a lot like Audrey in so many ways. She is a great napper and pretty easy going just like her big sister was. She is finally sleeping longer stretches- woohoo!!! She's asleep most nights by 8pm and wakes around 2am for a feeding and then back to sleep till 5 or 6 with a short nap after that. I cannot imagine our little family without her:-)

Getting ready....
And there's the smile!

After Madeleine was born my Mom stayed with us for a week. Now we all know how much Mom loves to play in the dirt. Well she's passing that along to Audrey and while she was here they planted sunflower seeds. Audrey loves to go outside and see how tall her flowers are. Here is the most recent picture. I can't wait to see her face when the flowers bloom.
I usually hate Texas summers because of how ridiculously hot it gets. However, yesterday morning was actually really nice. After checking on Audrey's sunflowers we had breakfast on the deck and played outside for a awhile.

And finally this s Audrey being silly. She likes to try out most of Madeleine's toys...I was surprised she could actually get in the car seat.

A Woodlands Week

As I said in the last post, we spent last week at my parent's house in The Woodland's. Overall a great trip and several 1st's for the girls. Madeleine "swam" for the first time and loved it. She started kicking her feet as soon as we got in the pool.... or maybe she was flailing her legs in shock. Either way she smiled the entire time. Another first for both the girls was a boat ride around Lake Woodlands. It was a beautiful night and we had dessert and wine~who could ask for more?:-) We had a great time with Big Guy and Sushie and look forward to more fun with them when we head to the Jersey shore in a few weeks.

Enough pictures Mom, we want to swim!

Madeleine's first dip in the pool.

Sushie with the girls.

Nap/Movie time for both girls on Sushie's bed. The weeks activities wore them both out b/c they slept GREAT!

This pic was taken seconds before Audrey licked the ice cream that we were all sharing. There was no sharing after she claimed it all with that lick- gross!
Another carousal ride- Audrey loved it last summer so we had to go again this year.

Audrey and Sushie getting ready for the big boat ride.
Madeleine is excited too! Can't you tell by all the drool?
Audrey loved seeing the dragon. She is a huge fan of the movie "How to Train a Dragon" so this made the boat ride even more fun.
We are working on posing like a lady...at least she was wearing shorts under her skirt.
Captain Audrey. She found the horn extremely entertaining and honked at everything...people, ducks, boats, you name it.

Busy week

It's been a busy week around here, lots of important events ( at least in our eyes!) First, we started potty training a few weeks ago (about time right? ). Being pregnant and working didn't allow a whole lot of time to do the whole peeing every 30 minutes thing at least not for Audrey and honestly she really didn't show much interest in it. So, now that's she's 3 and I have been home on maternity leave we gave it a try. Audrey has been great with peeing in the toilet but not such a fan of # 2. I realize this is probably too much info and she will be mortified some day when she reads this but I am sure it's not the first time she will be embarrassed by something I do;-) Anyway, Sushie was in town a few weeks ago and bought Audrey the sucker in the picture below and told her she could have it when she finally pooped in the potty. Well, she FINALLY did it and immediately asked for her sucker. Nothing like a little bribery...

Thank you Sushie!!!!!

1st trip to the splash pad this summer

Madeleine found the splash pad boring & decided to nap instead

Our big girl starts preschool in August and her backpack arrived this week. Thank you Pottery Barn Kids for your sale!

The final event of our week was mostly a milestone for me. On Saturday Cory and Audrey went to her buddy Cash's birthday party while I took Madeleine to work with me. Yes, I said work...on a Saturday. Thanks to the snow days this year the final day of school for teachers was on a Saturday. So my maternity leave ended (right in time for summer- hehe) and Madeleine went with me to clean, organize and then pack up my classroom. Sweet girl napped most of the time so Mommy could get some work done- 9 hours of work to be exact.

Audrey had her hair cut recently and looks a little like a chia pet. Hopefully it will grow back as fast as one too!

Hanging out at the party
Audrey's turn
Not bad

As I am typing it is ridiculously hot. Our first day of 100 degree heat and our upstairs AC is faltering..again. So the girls and I are heading to Houston to cool off poolside at Big Guy and Sushie's for several days while Cory gets to sweat it out here while the AC is repaired. Poor guy.

Odds & Ends

Nothing too exciting to share just some cute pictures of the girls over the last 2 weeks.

Ready to play outside- with skin this fair going outside is a process involving sunscreen and hats!

Tummy time

Our little diva. You should see her try to walk in those heels.

At the Grapevine Botanic Gardens checking out the Koi pond. She LOVED the fish.

We made several trips back to see the fish that day.

Again with the belly button...

The girls in their dresses that Gigi got them in Mexico. Sad story- this is the only time that Madeleine has worn her dress because I had to rip the seam to get her out of it. I'm not kidding! If anyone sews I have a dress that needs repair;-)
Madeleine loves this mirror and the silly bug that is attached to it, so cute watching her try to figure it out.

And she's done with tummy time!

Oklahoma Bound

I am a little late in posting this but better late then never! The beginning of May we took our first family road trip to Oklahoma for Aunt Lauren's graduation from OU. Shelby even made the trip:-) It was a weekend full of celebration with Lauren's graduation party Friday night and the ceremony on Saturday night. My first thought at the ceremony was "it hasn't been that long since Cory and I graduated"...then I started people watching and realized we have been married for almost 9 years and have 2 daughters and yes it has actually been a long time since we were at OU.

The Graduate- Masters in Accounting. Yea Lauren!!!

This was how Madeleine spent most of the ceremony.

Lauren's awesome graduation cake, A sorority sister of hers made it.

Cory & Paige hanging out with the Weaver's.

Audrey insisted on wearing her cowboy boots with her dress. Check out the purse the Gigi brought her back from Mexico, it's made out of candy wrappers! Audrey LOVED hanging out with her buddy Adelyn Plumbtree:-)

Madeleine and Audrey in their matching dresses. Thankfully I packed their sweaters because it was pretty chilly.

I love this picture of Madeleine

2 months

Our little chunky monkey is actually 10 weeks but she didn't have her 2 month check up until this week. As you can tell from the picture, she is a healthy & thriving baby. Her 2 month stats were pretty impressive.
Weight: 14lbs 13 oz (that 9 oz more then Audrey at this age)
Height: 25 inches!!! (Our baby has grown 5 inches since she was born)
Madeleine is in the 95% for both categories. (No surprise there)

Madeleine has changed so much over the last month. She smiles all the time now and I LOVE it! She coo's and is becoming more and more verbal every day. She is still a cuddlebug and would sleep on Cory or I all day if we let her. Thankfully she is a great napper too and will sleep just about anywhere. My only complaint is her night time sleeping. She was consistently waking every 3 hours to nurse and would fall right back asleep. However, her doctor said that due to her weight there is no reason she shouldn't be sleeping longer stretches. So she recommended baby boot camp. Thankfully we have not had to put it into practice since Madeleine has decided on her own that she can sleep longer. She's up to 5 hour stretches and I will gladly take them:-) Audrey continues to be a great big sister and loves on Madeleine as much as possible.

Hanging out in her crib

All dressed up and ready to attended baby Hatton's shower.

Check out the rolls on her arms:-)
Hi Mommy!

I think Audrey taught her this cheesy grin...
